    Hi everybody,
So I've ordered a Ramelzee "Beat Bop" Profile promo vinyl for £ 50.00 from this seller "*************", which is a fair price for the original pressing.
The seller so far had 100 % positive feedback so I went for it.

The delivery was fast, tin can't complain, Simply just looking at the record I knew information technology was a false european bootleg pressing without the "Musicmakers" stamp in the runout.

It'south been one calendar week since I got the tape and I've already sent two messages just the seller just won't respond.
I'd rather work it out than to give neg feedback only what else can I do at present ?
I've paid way likewise much for a tape which is worthless to me.

Thanks in advance for any info! D.

    Hi
Assuming that you paid with Paypal you may be able to open a dispute. Hopefully this volition prompt the seller into acting / reacting.

    Well spotted. Point to you.

That thread should take been edited or deleted. Im surprised its still there especially seeing as i fifty-fifty named the seller in the thread title. Feel complimentary to written report it.

Regardless, the forum rule still applies. Name and shame a buyer or seller and wait to take the thread locked, deleted or edited.

Whose acting like a moderator? By my own admission i cant enforce anything. Im just pointing out that the dominion is there. Similar many others exercise on here. Though with hindsight I shouldve mentioned why the name should be removed in the early post to the op.

And the reason I do is that I wouldnt desire threads of people that needed assistance get locked or deleted considering of something as simple as listing the sellers/buyers name.

No offence, only a matter of the run a risk of the mail beingness deleted or locked by the actual forum moderators.

Give the seller another week or more and so exit the neg feedback. You cant say you didnt try to piece of work things out with him. Is the seller a large/popular seller? Loads of items/feedback? Its not unknown for large-calibration sellers to merely ignore complaints equally the sheer volume of successful sales they have lessens the event of negs and neuts. You could exercise worse than contact discogs support almost the seller's non-performance likewise.

As for paypal - im a picayune unsure what happens if y'all open a dispute for item non as described outside of ebay. Last time I heard it would be a simple affair of buyer being told by PP to return the item to seller for a refund. Though this might have inverse.

  • Cut75 over 12 years ago

I assume he'south non an extra large seller, but he has over 120 positive feedbacks and only 1 neutral.

Okay I'll wait another week … and maybe I'll effort that dispute pick, let's run across.

    Thanks once again !

    Hello,
    Okay, here's the news:

I've tried Discogs back up AND Paypal dispute option.

Discogs back up is cool just has NO authority any.

Paypal dispute is besides USELESS in my specific case when the seller has no will to work it out.
So what is it skillful for anyhow when yous have to deal with a rip off ?

This guy simply wants to keep my coin for his false pressing.

This is frustrating. I can't go my money back for giving negative feedback.
Simply what else tin I practise ? I'thou sure this happened to other buyers.

Anyway, thank you to you all for advice.
    D.

If you got to leave neg feedback, continue it honest and non insulting. Explain calmly that time to come buyers demand to practise circumspection because if something goes wrong with the order, there will exist no refund or communication. Explain that you wouldn't usually leave neg feedback, but as you were ripped off for £50, your only compensation is the opportunity to be able to alert potential customers as to how their order may work out, should they choose this seller.

By being at-home and measured in your feedback, people volition be much more inclined to believe and heed your communication.

  • psyhoe over 12 years ago

i had a like state of affairs a while back.
ordered a rare first press of a cd, which the seller was saying he sells but i got a worthless re-release of the same anthology.
and nothing happend, you cant practise anything nigh it beside negative feedback.
discogs support volition not aid at all, paypal neither.
well thats the run a risk of buying here at discogs

  • Sammy-Smith over 12 years ago

paypal are useful equally long as you raise the dispute and esculate to a claim in the fourth dimension frame they land. paypal almost always sides with teh buyer and i just got back £260 after i was miss sold something.

    Sammy-Smith
paypal almost ever sides with teh buyer and i but got back £260 after i was miss sold something.

What happens with an item not as described dispute outside of ebay now then? Fourth dimension was you were simply told yous couldnt open a dispute. I believe at present the buyer is told to return the particular to the seller, but is the money refunded every bit shortly as that judgement is made or when the seller confirms the item has been returned?

Considering if paypal are yet going on the ground that 'if a heir-apparent complains in that location must be a problem otherwise they wouldnt complain' the scams are going to swing the other way and buyer will just open disputes on everything they go and keep the detail.

For example, say i buy a NM copy of a record, what is stopping me claiming its not every bit described, opening the PP dispute, getting the money back and either just not sending the item or sending an empty mailer past recorded delivery?

  • Kill_all_traitors over 12 years ago

The majority of scam artists are after hard cash non then much goods/vinyl, People are more desperate for cash then they are goods, Paypal can probably encounter that from their stats so they side with the heir-apparent accordingly, it'due south also paypals job to protect the buyers cash outset and foremost, they can see the cash has gone through their accounts, a payment has been fabricated (this much is elementary). your goods on the other hand do not pass through their hands and are not so easily quantifiable every bit to their status or authenticity etc, this could be one reason for Paypals (apparent) bias against the seller.

    Just out of curiosity:
This 1 here Rammelzee* vs. K-Rob - Vanquish Bop might be the Promo you ordered, correct?
There'southward no entry for whatsoever unofficial promo lookalike pressing on Discogs afaiks.
You added the following comment on July, 16th:

    Cut75
BEWARE of unofficial Promo lookalike pressings. The original Profile pressings (Promo and commercial release) should have the Audio Makers stamp in the runout groove. My guessing is that the label pictured to a higher place is probably from the unofficial pressing. BEWARE !

So what y'all say is, that the simply difference between the "official" promo and the bootleg promo is a Audio Makers stamp in the runouts?
Too bad the release Rammelzee* vs. M-Rob - Shell Bop doesn't even mention the run-out grooves.

Hmm, sad to say, but how on globe could the seller observe that he is selling an inofficial release?

  • Cut75 over 12 years ago

    Hullo RASSEL,

What's the difference between the original pressing from the 80ies and a simulated european bootleg dubbed from another vinyl re-create ?
    I can tell you.
It'due south foremost the SOUND QUALITY.
Why does the original pressing from 1983 justify the cost it demands ?
It's but a slice of HipHop history.

THIS IS why collectors pay the cost for an original and NOT just because they desire to wank over runout stamps.

Again, the problem here is that the seller sold me the kicking for the toll of the original pressing.

I told him right after I received the tape.
I've waited days and days for a response from the seller.
He showed no interest in working information technology out.

If I would've Only LIED Most Not GETTING THE Record I surely would get whatever kind of refund.

Whatever future buyers however down with being honest in a example like this ?

This is simply some slice of mind for DISCOGS and PAYPAL !

  • rassel over 12 years ago

    Dear Cut75

I have no doubt that I would have the same feelings every bit you, in paying an original and receiving a lousy bootleg, believe me (and it already happened to me too).

I just wanted to betoken to the fact, that a distinction between the original and the bootleg

    might

not be as well easy to grab for the seller, just of class I agree that information technology's not fair to sell a bootleg to the price of the original, and even less, to not response afterwards anymore.

To make it short: I don't have any sympathy for this seller.
And please, reduce the usage of CAPS in your postings, even if you're upset this won't aid, ok :)

  • Jayfive over 12 years ago

You lot leave feedback, you written report the seller's non-operation to discogs, you open a paypal dispute, you become your money back, you motion on.

There is nothing either company could have done to foreclose these circumstances from occuring aside from what they already do. Discogs has reminders well-nigh selling the right version of a release but either if the seller has no reason to believe he isnt or is willingly breaking the rules little else can exist done.

You deceit punish someone for an offence earlier the offence occurs.

Thanks, but I won't become my money back from Paypal, this I've already tried.

when y'all tried did the seller respond through paypal?

are you sure y'all tried difficult enough? I'm pretty sure there're ways to get it back. What was the sellers name again? i would like to avoid him.

    http://www.discogs.com/support/new

i had a simmilar purchase recently and Leeann was very helpful.

On the other hand. Did you ask the seller to verify his copy as the original promo with the correct run-out? there're many sellers here that are selling genres they're non into. i don't know much about Techno and like it when the heir-apparent questions me to verify the record he is assuming to receive...

DON'T Give up!!! (the caps are for rassel :))

  • Cut75 over 12 years ago

    Hi buddahs_records,

    Thanks !
Yes, the seller responded through Paypal but said he wouldn't accept to make refund.
Paypal then simply airtight the case.

I've contacted my menu company 2 days ago. Maybe they can do something.

    Thanks again for the comments.
